Highlights
- Still on for doing recordings of children at the Oireachtas, but nothing booked yet.
- Gemeni 2.5 pro the best LLM for Q&A in Irish.
- Took a lot of effort to get 10-12 speakers at Oireachtas last year. Recommends not recording if we don't get the van.
- Recordings with Donall and kids going well. Donall has put in a lot of time recently and has finished a lot of the prompts. Needs to check with Andy about how much he has actually done.
- Asked if Muireann is going through Fionait's transtool data.
- Offered to check out locations for Oireachtas while he is in Belfast.
- Gave update on his dissertation progress.
- Showed his project on generating Q&A with 6 LLMs. Gemini 2.5 pro is the best (as judged by Aela).
- Starting to write thesis, only 3 weeks left.
- Asked about plan for Oireachtas
- Most events in ICC, some in Europa Hotel
- Ronan left equipment in school and recording is continuing. Done around 2000 prompts.
- Has article for Andy to look at.
- Update on MPhil dissertations.
- Plan to do recordings at Oireachtas - same as last year. Especially get children. Important for us to be visible
- Resubmitting application for funding.
- Update on Fotheidil. Been working on it this week and hope to get version working by the end of today.
- Suggested Amanda be the Irish speaker in charge of website content and I take over technical maintenance when Oskar leaves.
- No plans to come to Oireachtas at the moment but might change his mind.
- Had issues with PIPER 1 GPL voice using the kids Ulster voices. Coming out garbled.
- Wants to know how Transtool works - might meet with Amanda later.
- Gave update on Fotheidil front-end development.
