Highlights​

  • We have access to LUMI.
  • Storms S2S demo underwhelming.

Joey​

  • Got access to LUMI.
  • Running a test today - translation model.
  • Pitched his paper to a group of experts. Went well. In touch with lecturer in QUB on multi-language models.
  • Met with Martin Wynn in DCU during workshop. Coordinator for Clarin in UK. Interested in parliament corpora. DCU may be joining Clarin.

Liam​

  • Set up Setanta with Ciadhla and Tomas.
  • Figured out faulty connector to Setanta.
  • Lots of Fotheidil users. Finding bugs. Crashing. Possible schedule restart.
  • Particular problem with longer chunks of speech.

Andy​

  • Give Neasa's key to Liam for Lumi access.
  • Train streaming model with Speechbrain?
  • Advise Joey on using VMs. If you need specific tools, use containers.
  • Will look at the 'bui' pronunciation problem in the synthetic voices (Julie noted).

  • Storm demo was terrible - video of a few seconds.
  • Someone from Gardaí claimed they were developing ASR, speech technologies etc.
  • TG4 Luacht TG4.Teenagers doing transcription. Tomas (sp?) using APIs from Speechmatics etc. Automates subtitles for putting on video. Could use API. Need to pencil in meeting.
  • Asked Liam can more than one person restart the Fotheidil recogntiion API.
  • Guy in Belfast wants to use rtf file, Oscar alrady changed it.Has a lot of recordings.
  • Webreader question - did anyone test? Andy - yes, but it stayed on the front page.

Tamas​

  • Lumi hate lots of small files. Means more I/O operations. They advise using certain wrappers. Advised using one joint environment. Start with Rockam (sp?) version of PyTorch.
  • Clarin were involved in Finland - they have alot of money. Pay for infrastructure and storage.

John​

  • Talked about BigPictureSoftware and design of API.
  • Meeting Andy and Liam this week for more API discussions.

Julie​

  • Thinks she broke Fotheidil, used a song recorded on his phone.
  • Started working with Eniola. Fixing problems with words.

Christoph​

  • Might be difficult to use webreader on Single Page App (our website). Will work on it with Oskar.

Oskar​

  • Problems with implementing webreader on Single Page App.

Simon​

  • Mentioned BigPictureSoftware API meeting.

Ciadhla​

  • Possible solution to individual word problem -look through what we have now before rerecording people.
